The Journey to Certification

In 2016, Amina's Natural Skincare took a bold step that would define our brand for the decade to come. While many skincare companies were content with unregulated "natural" claims, we pursued COSMOS organic certification from the Soil Association—the UK's leading organic certifying body and one of the most respected names in organic verification worldwide.

This wasn't the easy path. COSMOS certification, operating under the European Union's COSMOS standard, represents the gold standard in organic and natural cosmetics. It demands that at least 95% of plant-based ingredients be certified organic, that every ingredient be assessed for environmental impact, and that manufacturing processes meet strict sustainability criteria. Most challenging of all, it requires annual audits with complete transparency and traceability from soil to skin.

But for a brand born from a mother's determination to find safe, effective solutions for her children's sensitive skin, there was no other choice. Amina wouldn't compromise on what touched her children's skin. We wouldn't compromise on what touches yours.

Our story is deeply rooted in Jordan. Our organic extra virgin olive oil comes from groves that have fed this land for thousands of years. Our aloe vera is grown under the Jordanian sun and cultivated with care and respect for the land. Our Dead Sea salts carry minerals found nowhere else on earth.

But local heritage alone wasn't enough for us. We wanted to prove that Jordanian ingredients and Jordanian manufacturing could meet and exceed the world's most demanding organic standards. For ten years, we've demonstrated exactly that.

The COSMOS standard addresses the entire lifecycle of a product:

Ingredient Integrity: At least 95% of all plant-based ingredients must be certified organic. The remaining 5% must come from a restricted list of approved natural substances or nature-identical minerals.
